Modern Warfare 2 is a “no buy” for Ash

The recent announcement by Infinity Ward has cemented my decision to not bu the next incarnation of Call of Duty.
The reasons are quite simple; no dedicated servers and no mod tools.
These are the things which make gaming great.
The communities crated by dedicated servers and unique mods make the gaming experience all the more enjoyable.
In short, this probably will mean there will be no Housewares in Modern Warfare 2.

For all those playing tomorrow night, you will notice that the mod is going to download again.

That’s because zeke has uploaded the newer RSM 1.7 mod. The download will be about 20MB.

zeke also added some standard maps back in.

As for Havoc’s request to have all of the custom maps we use zipped into one big file for out-of-game downloading, I am almost done with that. The zipped file weighs in at 842MB. I’ll post the download link as soon as I have one.

We are also still playing around with server message updates to Twitter. Suggestions are welcome!

SmackdownII went down after some problems with gameservers.com. Problems resolved and SmackdownII is up and ready for smack!

Hi all!

Rexkwando putting out a message that Smackdown II has now Officially dumped the “Build your Own Burger!” status.

I’ve got High Speed Redirects and a, , plethora of new maps to try out.

Check out http://smackdown.clanservers.com for the latest map rotation and list of maps currently being hosted.

New Smackdown II Info!!!

OK Housewares clan....

Here’s some important info for the upcoming Friday, Saturday, Weekday shopping on Smackdown.

1. The old Smackdown server is being retired along with the current TeamSpeak Server we all use. Bink’s CFO has laid down the law and his IPhone and Apple support is costing him too much.
2. Smackdown II has alpha website with the current server connection info and new teamspeak server connection info. The url is http://smackdown.clanservers.com . Look for the “Connection Info” section. This is going to be a new site powered by Joomla but for now I have 1 simple CSS styled page with info for our players.
3. Rexx has figured out how to get 400kbps downloads on Smackdown II!!!!! --- Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be hosting/serving only the latest 5-10 newest custom maps on the server. I will be creating a page on smackdown.clanservers.com that will automatically show the current maps on the server and one page that will list the current map rotation for the weekend. My plan is to write and deploy the map rotation page first. Also, in order to host custom maps I need to dole out more ObamaBucks to GameServers.com. If anyone can find it in your little COD4 hearts to contribute a few bucks a month that would be greatly appreciated.

4. I will do my best to always have the server up and running and if anyone of you want to I’ll share RCON password and the ModernRcon util so you can experiment with server/mod config. I really need some help with testing and any help will be appreciated.

5. I’m looking into setting up World At War server but for now I’d like to focus on getting Smackdown II “Fit for slaughter!”

6. I’ve really enjoyed this past year getting my butt whooped by the Hoosevares and Smackdown clans. Thanks for all the great times, fun, and kills. Keep em coming.

Tiger Woods 09 for Wii?

Just curious if anyone else has this?

I think only I, Ash and zeke have a Wii at the moment, but I could be wrong. I rented it on Gamefly and it was pretty good.
