I know it’s a little early, as Steve’s Macworld keynote address isn’t until January 15th, but I’m hoping for updated AppleTVs and Exchange syncing iPhones. Maybe an updated iLife wouldn’t be a bad thing either.

w00t!

I agree on the updated AppleTV but I do not think there will be a new iLife, just too soon.
Hoping for some new Macbooks though.

It’s the new iSatellite Launcher.
It sounds awesome, but all it is a slingshot big enough to launch ipods, and iphones about 50 feet in the air.
Luckily you still get your I *heart* mac sticker so it’s still worth it.

I have a feeling I would get “rolled” if I click the link, so forget about it.

Tomorrow is the big SteveNote day. I’ve already blocked out time on my calendar at work so I can watch via Quicktime streaming, or if it’s not streaming, catch the live updates on MacRumors.com

OK, the Steve-note is underway. He says there are going to be four things to talk about (...and possible One More Thing?)

First up, Time Capsule...an Airport Extreme Base Station with built in “server grade” hard drive. Makes using Time Machine easier for laptop users.

Moving on…

Number 3: iTunes Movie Rentals

Booyah! Now we’re talkin’

This is the one I’ve been waiting for, APPLETV v2.0. You can now rent movies from iTunes using the new AppleTV. Movies are DVD quality and in HD and Dolby 5.1. Prices are 2.99 - 4.99. You have 30 days to start watching once purchased, and 24 hours to finish watching once started. Over 1000 movies available for rent.

I wonder if this will affect Netflix? I’ve never used Netflix, but now that I can rent movies right through the AppleTV, I might just start renting movies. Before I got my AppleTV, I never really bought DVDs at all. Now, I have a movie/TV Show collection nearly 500GB in size. The AppleTv is a great device. Now, in version 2.0, even better.

The upgrade is free for current AppleTV owners (ME!), and the price has dropped to $229 for new units. I am placing an order for a second AppleTV today. w00t!

Fourth Thing: World’s Thinnest Laptop

Actually, I’m still stuck on the new AppleTV. Planning my trip to the Apple Store at lunch. Need to see if the new price drop takes affect today.

Anyways, Apple also introduced the World’s Thinnest Laptop. .76-inches at it’s thickest. 2GB RAM standard. 80GB hard drive, but can come with an optional 64GB SSD drive instead. $1799.

Moving back to the AppleTV. Yup, price drop is immediate. Apple Store Online already reflects the price change. Can’t wait for lunch smile

Software upgrade to version 2.0 due out in two weeks.

Will there be One More Thing...?

Doesn’t look like there’s gonna be “One More Thing...”. The Steve-note has ended.

That’s OK, because I got an AppleTV update. Good enough for me.

They dropped the price too. That was unexpected, but nice

I think it’s the same hardware. The update is all in software, or so I think. If there is going to be new hardware, I hope it comes with an OFF/ON button this time.

Ya, I know it is the same hardware.
I just meant they are probably planning new hardware very soon.
