Turkey Day
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to all Team Housewares employees!
I would like to give thanks to each and every person that has played on Housewares this year. It’s been a lot of fun. Thank you!
It is also time to say “Happy Birthday to Us”. That’s right. This month marks the one year anniversary of Team Housewares. We’ve had a great time playing with everyone, whether we had our asses handed to us, or we did the ass-handing (that doesn’t happen too often). We’ve went from CoD version 1.4 Rifles Only, to CoD version 1.5 Rifles Only-no pistols, to Rifles Only-moveable MG44s, to our latest mod, the Heat of battle.
Ash is poised to break 2000 bashes for the year.
And remember, the stats will reset in January. Who will come out on top for 2005?
We will see you all on Saturday!

Heat of Battle Version 1.0

Version 1.0 of the Heat of Battle mod has been released. The server will switch over to the new version sometime later today, or at the latest, Monday night. Everyone will need to grab the new files before next weekend.
What’s New
- Sprinting - Yes, one can now run. Press the “use” key (which for most people defaults to the F key), and you’ll take off. There is a vertical bar next to your horizontal health bar, which shows your stamina. As you sprint, your stamina starts to drop. You will then need to rest and let your stamina build back up before you can sprint again. (I think Sickness already has this feature, but it’s called “lag” when he uses it
)
- New Maps - There are three new maps: Juno Beach, Maaloy, and Offensive. One of my favorites, Defiance, has been fixed, and will be back in rotation. CR44 and Village also got performance updates.
Download and Install
Grab the new update from the Heat of Battle download page. Run the installer. For PeeCee users, you will need to launch your game with the new Heat of Battle icon. Mac users, launch your game as usual.
On a side note, if you end up re-installing your entire Call of Duty game and are running into problems getting kicked by Punkbuster, please read this thread in the forums.
You can read about other changes at the Heat of Battle web site.
I hope everyone enjoys the new updates, and we’ll see ya next Saturday!

The Future of Call of Duty
As some of you may or may not know, Call of Duty 2 is set to be released for the PeeCee in November. CoD2 brings many enhancements to the current game. To see for yourself, download the newly released demo from the Call of Duty web site. Click on Call of Duty 2, and you will see the link for the demo.
The demo is for Single Player only, but you will definitely get a feel for the game. Plus, you can see if the new version will run on your existing hardware.
If Call of Duty 2 ends up being as impressive as it sounds, we will eventually run it on our server (once the Mac version comes out).
Enjoy.

Stats Are Up…
...and they ain’t pretty, folks (unless you happen to be an MM! player!)
Spots 1-5 for the evening go to the MM folks. Out of all the [Housewares] folks, Sickness did the best, followed by 5.56mm, zeke, Ash, Mac, and Greengo.
Gameplay was great and lots of fun.
BUT...
Ash and I are thinking that we put the server back to bolt-action rifles only, just like our old server was. Basically, this would get rid of the semi-auto rifles, but the pistols will still be there. And like on our old server, the problem is with the Americans, who only have one bolt action to choose from, the Springfield. During this upcoming week, I will see if I can hack it so that all instances of Americans are replaced by the British. Not sure if it can be done, though.
If anyone objects to this plan, you need to voice your opinion in the forum (although, you can still be overridden).
That is all.
