2011 S-Mart Classic

by MacTHW

Time marches on.

Last tournament was for binkdog.

The S-Mart Classic is for Ash, who celebrates another milestone of being older than MacTHW. If the theme of the poster seems odd to you, you’ll have to research Army of Darkness (I’ll help you—click here), which forms the foundation of Team Housewares and where from it’s name is derived.

Bring your A, B, C and D games…as defending champion binkdog brings you the 2011 S-Mart Classic at Bethpage Black which could very well be titled “72 Holes of Hell”.

This is the fourth championship for the young rookie, making him even with MacTHW and two championships behind the player with the most—binkdog. We look forward to your defense of the Griinbrier Classic next year!

Labor Day Weekend Headlines

by MacTHW

Player turnout was light but the competition was fierce as three THW Golf veterans spent Labor Day weekend laboring hard for wins, stats and course records. Armed with a new and improved swing, binkdog makes gains in the rankings and adds another course to his Pro status. Meanwhile, Mac struggles to contain his new and continuously un-improving swing. These are your headlines for the THW Golfing weekend.

MacTHW calls for a re-match at St. Andrews in an attempt to get the course record back from the course-nappin’ binkdog. To make it a golfing trio, binkdog drags the dude onto the course. MacTHW looks to be on pace to snag the record as he makes the turn at 31, three strokes ahead of the ‘dog. The back nine entangles MacTHW, not only knocking him off pace for the record but handing binkdog a win as well.

Next up, MacTHW puts Sheshan on the line as Seartu joins to take dude’s place. Both MacTHW and Seartu stumble early, letting binkdog lead at the turn. Seartu’s luck does not improve on the back. MacTHW battles to prevent another binkdog win and musters a birdie on the 18th to cause a tie for first.

Friday evening concludes with just two golfers left at The Els Club. MacTHW surges ahead, leading by five strokes at the turn. The binkdog charge is denied on the back nine as well as MacTHW’s attempt at the record, who misses the mark by two strokes.

Saturday was the binkdog, enderdog and MacTHW show.

First stop was St. Andrews, as a confident binkdog once again puts his course up for grabs. enderdog is on pace to snag the record but completely loses focus along the back. MacTHW sneaks in under the radar for the win. Cha-ching!

It’s enderdog’s turn to offer up a course, and The Els Club is once again on the playlist. MacTHW appears to be in good shape to break the course record but is thwarted by binkdog, who turns in a stellar back nine which is not only good enough to win the round but grab yet another course for his Pro stable.

With Course Pro status in his eyes, binkdog wants another chance at MacTHW’s Sheshan. MacTHW appears to be out of the running as he gives up five strokes to enderdog by the turn. In an effort to make a good showing, MacTHW turns up the heat and jettisons past the competition for the win, leaving a stunned enderdog sitting in the caboose. Choooo-choooo!

To get a preview of the upcoming tournament, the golfers head to Bethpage Black. Hopefully their outing is not a sign of things to come as none of them could come in at par or under.

binkdog, blinded by his new swing, is under the impression that he could take the record at Whistling Straits. And by record, he must have meant caboose, as he battles to stay out of it for most of the game. enderdog is the only one putting up an attempt and a birdie on the 18th could have clinched the record. Unfortunately, the putt is knib’d and enderdog has to settle for a tie. MacTHW takes command of the caboose.

As the caffeine wears off, the ‘dogs set their sights on Pebble Beach for the last round of the weekend. MacTHW does nothing to defend the record. Fortunately, the ‘dogs are doing nothing spectacular to attain it. Once again, binkdog avoids the caboose, letting MacTHW occupy it solo.

And so goes yet another enjoyable virtual golfing weekend. Join us next week for the S-Mart Classic at Bethpage Black.

binkdog On a Streak

by MacTHW

Ash and Mac were off the virtual links this weekend as they attempted another ascent of Pikes Peak, leaving binkdog, B-Dub and enderdog to battle it out on the links.

Taking a cue from Ash, binkdog hires his own swing coach and finds himself on quite a winning streak lately, even managing to take back third place from B-Dub.

With MacTHW out of town and unable to properly defend St. Andrews, binkdog wastes no time smashing the current record, beating it by two strokes and asserting himself as Course Pro. binkdog also makes a play for Royal Melbourne, successfully dislodging enderdog from his Course Pro status there. Other grabs at Sheshan and The Greenbrier are not as successful.

Saturday was Ditch B-Dub Night so no one played while Ash and Mac recovered from their 12 mile trek up Pikes Peak.

More action next weekend.

Guest Headliner

by binkdog

The Headlinerizer is still out of action so binkdog will attempt to fill in. Here are your headlines for the August 13-14 weekend.

Saturday was the return of VIRGDAWG !!! Welcome back to the action Virg!! Virg will hopefully be joining us on Saturday’s for a couple of rounds!

B-dub drubbed the field all weekend, including a record 69 (yes six nine) at Wolf creek! His only scare came from the binkdog at costa navarino, who had the lead until 15 or 16 and has screenshots to prove it! Other than that, I think the closest was usually about 2-5 shots back.

As for the rest of the field, binkdog was handing out 1 and 2 shot beat downs on most of the courses - woooo hoo!!

MacTHW was off his game, standing there in awe of the binkdog and Ash resurgence!!

The ASHThw jumped from the caboose to the 2nd car behind b-dub’s and is in the mid 70’s, looking for victory!!

I think there were a couple of team games, most notably team binkterton beating team macsmear Into submission!!

It was a light weekend with seartu only playing friday and then camping on sat, dude missing Friday and only playing 1 game sat. Enderdog blew us all off on sat for quality time with the mrs.

T-bone ?? T-who?? Some guy claiming to be t-bone posted a screen shot, but he appears to have appearance and teamspeak-itis. Maybe it will be cured this weekend!

Well those are what I remember - enjoy!!!
